Hi! Today I am going to write step-by-step instructions on how to write a quality comment on someone else’s blog. For the past week or so, I have been exploring other blogs, reading other comments and writing comments. From this, I have learned what elements are in a quality comment. These elements include:
- Address your comment like a letter.
- Compliment the writer in a specific way. DO NOT just say, “I like your blog.”
- Don’t reveal personal information about yourself or others. Write the same way you would in a post.
- Offer new information about their topic, but keep it positive.
- Leave a link to your own blog to keep the commenting chain going!
- Use correct spelling, punctuation, and grammar. I would recommend first typing your post or comment in Microsoft Word, then copying and pasting it into your comment/post.
- Be professional. Don’t use acronyms such as “LOL”, shortened versions of words such as “u” or “thx”, or other slang words.
- Don’t write anything inappropriate.
I hope you can use this post to help you with your comments and posts! Happy blogging!
